Story
At 8am on the 14th of November, we (Freddie, Stephane and I) will be participating in the Durham University Charity Komittee's (DUCK) Jailbreak event. Jailbreak is an extreme hitch-hiking event, with the aim of getting as far away from the University as possible within 36 hours and there's only one rule - no money can be spent! In previous years some students have reached destinations such as Los Angeles, New York and Egypt, although our ambitions are admittedly a little more conservative...(there was talk of Mexico!)
All of this is, of course, in the interest of charity. The charity we have chosen is Autism Speaks. Autism Speaks is an inspirational charity dedicated to research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and eventually a cure for autism. They equally have many public events aimed at raising public awareness about autism and its effects on individuals, families, and society; and to bringing hope to all who deal with the hardships of this disorder.
Please sponsor our Jailbreak event. Your donations will go towards the funding of research into autism and help for those affected by it, "turning a life of despair into a life of hope".
Thank you so much
