I made it to Everest Base Camp and had an amazing time doing it.
100% of your donations will be going to Breast Centre Cardiff and Vale. Thank you so much to everyone for every penny and all the well wishes.

Nothing like taking the easy option - and with a little nudge from a friend - I have finally lost it by agreeing to trek to Everest Base Camp, starting 14th October. The sane bit about it is doing it for a fantastic cause which is Breast Centre Cardiff and Vale.
This brand new, purpose-built centre opened in 2010 at Llandough Hospital in Cardiff, and will serve patients from the whole of Wales and the surrounding areas. The aim of the appeal is to raise funds to improve the existing service, above and beyond what can be provided by relying on NHS funding alone. The money raised will not replace Government funding; instead, it will be used to enhance the service by providing additional services - things like 3D mammography, Liposuction and fat transfer equipment, staff training, to name just a few.
The appeal hopes to raise the sum of £1million over the next five years.
Breast cancer has been a pretty dominating and important part of my life, and that of my family's and people around me, over the last year. Mum is now one year on from finishing chemotherapy for breast cancer and fighting the silly disease successfully for the second time in ten years. I am immensly grateful for all the care she has received and the research and development that has taken place over the last decades helping push forwards the understanding, prevention and treatment of breast cancer. However, there is still much to be done.
While this is only a small contribution I am making - both for women and men with breast cancer alike - every single penny will help make a difference.
It would be amazing if you are able to donate in any way - and doing it through this site makes it incredibly easy.
Thanks so much for you help and support.
Kathryn xx
