Nordoff Robbins and Childline Egypt Bike Ride · 21 January 2010 ·

Nordoff and Robbins is the UK’s largest music therapy charity, with a unique approach shaped by more than 60 years of practice. Through the power of music, it breaks through the barriers caused by life-limiting illness, disability and social isolation. The charity does this through providing music therapy to people across the UK, whilst also training the music therapists of the future and funding research to measure and improve the impact of its work.

Story

I had hoped in January to be sunning myself on a tropical beach but instead I have been persuaded to accept the challenge of a demanding bike ride along the banks of the Nile, from Aswan to Luxor, in order to raise much needed funds for Nordoff Robbins Music Thereapy and Childline. Both charities carry out fantastic work in support of disadvantaged children (find out more at www.nordoff-robbins.org.uk and www.childline.org.uk).

All money will be divided equally between the two charities and since I have paid all of the costs associated with my participation in the event, every penny raised will go direct to the charities.

The ride takes place between 21 and 25 January 2010. Every donation, however small, will make a difference and will be hugely appreciated. I am very small and more used to horses than bikes so this represents a scary challenge for me, so I deserve your support!
