Provisional date of 04/11 for fundraising afternoon tea, details to follow.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My son aged 5 months was diagnosed with plagiocephaly (head flattening) during his 10 week check. He had torticullis (over tight neck muscle) and could only look left which was the cause of the flattening.

He was referred to a physiotherapist who included him, after an initial consultation, in a baby neck clinic. The exercises and repositioning has worked to cure him of the torticullis, however, the flattening is fairly severe.

My husband and I have been to vitality in motion in Cardiff for a consultation with our son and as he is so young, we have been advised of some alternative repositioning and cushioning techniques to try for the next 6 weeks, after which time we will be advised of whether star band treatment is necessary. This will be the end of November.

The cost of star band treatment is £2,000.00 and is not available on the NHS. The NHS claim the treatment is purely cosmetic and site this as their reason for not funding. Aaron's head on the left side has completely shifted forward in comparison to his right and there is a possibility this can affect his hearing and his jawline (making eating more difficult).

We contacted Headstart for Babies who agreed that if we fundraise for the charity, 75% of raised money will go towards Aaron's star band and 25% will be kept by the charity. Any money over and above the cost of the treatment from the 75% will also go to the charity.

Should in six weeks it be decided that Aaron does not need treatment. all funds will be donated to the charity so they can assist another family with treatment.
