Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Until just over a week ago, I had never completed a 10km before so after lots of training over the last 14 weeks or so, with different chums who were willing to brave the elements (including hailstones, wind and torrential rain) with me I successfully completed the Scottish 10km in Glasgow along with staff and friends of Auchrannie Resort in the Isle of Arran. This training definitely paid off, and as a result I am eager to try another 10km this time in Inverness on the 30th September 2012 which will take me along the banks of Loch Ness - wonder if Nessie will put in an appearance??!!
I had not heard of Chloes Chemoo cows until a few months ago, and I would urge you to go and look at their website. I am sure that the story of Chloe will touch your heart and that you will feel encouraged to donate to such a worthwhile cause that helps cheer up children and young people who are going through cancer treatment with the provision of a goody box of craft materials and a cuddly cow similar to Chloes favourite toy, Chewits. Seeing photos of the craft materials that had been bought for some children was a great inspiration for me, especially as I also love all things crafty and know what great fun they can offer.
I would be thrilled if you could donate a wee something, as every penny counts and will spur me onwards on the day of the race to get to that finishing line in Bught Park in Inverness.
Massive thank yous to all of you who initially inspired me to do the Glasgow 10km and have given me the courage to face the challenge of another. I remain indebted to everyone who has trained with me in rain or shine and at 6am and 10pm or wherever we could squeeze some practice in. Thank you to you all who have visited this page and have been persuaded to contribute to this great cause - it makes a huge difference when going around the course knowing that I have so much support and encouragement and that my efforts are worthwhile.
