Story

I have chosen to raise money for Cancer Research in memory of my friend Di Parry who died in April 2013 aged 43 leaving behind her husband Steve and her beautiful daughter, Hollie aged 12.  I am also are doing this as I want to support Cancer Research in doing all they can to help combat this awful indiscrimate disease that impacts upon the lives of so many and has effected too many people close to me.

As a friend, my life is richer for having known Di and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.  We know that she would approve wholeheartedly of our mad decision to undertake this challenge and we will be thinking of her every step of the way.

DIANA PARRY BSc PhD 1969-2013

"Diana passed away peacefully almost 10 years after her initial diagnosis of breast cancer. She achieved so many things in those 10 years and throughout her life. The word inspirational can applied to few but in Di's case it aptly describes her effect on people. She was inspirational, generous in spirit and incredibly positive about all aspects of life, even in the face of the enormous physical and mental strain of chemotherapy and advancing disease.

Her credo was 'Carpe Diem', seize the day and take every opportunity that presents itself. Her second credo was friendships, people come first and nothing is more important than the friends you have around you to enjoy times together. Her legacy will live on in the memories of those who knew her and her loving family." - Steve Parry 2013
