JUMP for St Mary's · 26 September 2009

St Mary’s Hospice provides specialised supportive and palliative care for people with life-shortening conditions throughout South Cumbria. Less than 20% of our funding comes from the NHS, the rest comes from our supporters. All our services are provided free to patients and their families.

Story

Hi everyone and thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I am taking part in a 10,000 feet tandem skydive in aid of St Mary's Hospice.  The skydive will take place on Saturday 26th September 2009 at Cark Airfield.

I will be freefalling through the air for several thousand feet and I will be harnessed to a professional parachute instructor at all times throughout the decent.

St Mary's Hospice is the dedicated provider in South Cumbria of comprehensive specialised supportive and palliative care for people with life-limiting conditions.  Their facilities and services are available to all adults who are facing the end of life, their families, carers and the bereaved.  All St Mary's care is provided free of charge, but it is not cost free.  Just to maintain their current services costs around £2.2 million a year, of which they have to raise £1.8 million from supporters.

My aim is to raise as much money as possible through sponsorship and I would value your support.  £10 would go along way but any amount would be gratefully received.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: St Mary's Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
