The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

So I have missed 2 bike rides this year already so said to myself when I joint this team I will participate on this cycle. I will saddle up and mount onto my dad's bike for the 2nd time. I am sure the bike will get me through those steep hills. It sure helped when I was doing London to Southend last year!

I am so glad that I am able to utilise my dads bike for the 2nd year running since its being sitting there screaming to be used for over 15years!

So here we are less than a month to go and 6months into my role and no training done what so ever!!!

This year Wheels for Change are raising money for The Prince's Trust, a charity which I have not had the privilege to raise money for in the past.As a member of Barclay's I have signed up to raise a minimum of £250 (ideally I would like to raise more, theres an amazing bike up for grabs for the person who raises the most money! I get serious Bike Envy and its super duper light and just amazing)

So guys, please dig deep into your pockets for such a great cause and please pray I do not have a sore bum at the end of it! After all I will have a hockey match on the Saturday!!

Lots of Love and Thank you very much

Katie

 About Wheels for Change

Wheels for Change is an annual fundraising cycling challenge, led by Barclays colleagues to raise money for charity. This year, Wheels for Change is raising money for the Prince’s Trust, one of Barclays’ UK charity partners. The Prince’s Trust specifically focuses on 13 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed, struggling at school or at risk of exclusion. At Barclays we want to help the next generation achieve their ambitions. Our 5 Million Young Futures goal is our commitment to do this and by working with organisations like the Prince’s Trust we are able to support the next generation, helping them to build stronger futures for themselves and their families. This fundraising initiative will help to invest in the future; Barclays employees are invited to take part and to help us to support more young people to achieve their ambitions – this is what Citizenship at Barclays does.
