Story
As some of you already know, we are embarking on the enormous challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro on 4th January 2010. We are doing this in aid of the charity Malaria No More and we would love your support.
We have adopted a village in Ghana and our goal is to raise £20,000 to buy 4000 malaria nets and in turn wipe out malaria in that village, saving 8000 lives.
A child dies of malaria every 30 seconds. Over a million people a year die from the disease, most of them children under five.
However there is a simple and cheap solution - mosquito bed nets tackle this problem head on and are proven to save lives. Just £10 will protect a family of four.
We need lots of help and sponsorship to meet this monumental target and wanted to ask whether you would be prepared to make a donation to our fund. We are also going to be cheeky and ask you to dig deep - this is no fun run, no walk in the park - we are risking life and limb and extreme altitude illness, not to mention things like high altitude cerebral and pulmonary edema to achieve this feat over 7 days, so please give generously!! Just £50 will save 20 people's lives ...
Thanks for your support Katie and Ben
