Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
As many of you know, I'm in Tacloban, where the Super Typhoon hit last year. I'm here with All Hands Volunteers and I get up each morning to clear debris, dig trenches and build homes.
The typhoon was so devastating that it destroyed or severely damaged 1.1 million homes. Huge progress has been made and nine months on, the rehabilitation of damaged infrastructure nears 50%.
All Hands Volunteers seeks to rehouse those affected with the minimum amount of disruption to their lives: within their own communities. If we can raise just one Philippine Peso for every house that was destroyed, we can build nine homes and strengthen the community there are in.
I'm running in the heat of the Philippines, which is quite hard when you've spent the entire week clearing rubble, sledge-hammering and lifting endless amounts of lumber for 8 hours a day. I would really like to raise at least $100 to help earn enough money for the first house. Together we're running the equivalent distance of between New York City and Boston! So, if you'd consider chipping in a few dollars, please support us and together we'll be able to build a house for an affected family. Thank you.
