We support people to help rebuild lives after stroke.

Story

This year I will be fifty.  I am grateful for my health and my life and I think this milestone needs marking in some way.  So why not put myself through the horror-that-is training for one of the biggest endurance events I can imagine - the Marathon.  I could not get a place for the London marathon so I chose the next best thing, Paris.  Once I had my place the next thing was to decide on a charity.  After much thought I have chosen Stroke Association.

Every year an estimated 150,000 people in the UK have a stroke. That's one person every five minutes. Most people affected are over 65, but anyone can have a stroke, including children and even babies.

Did you know that stroke kills twice as many women as breast cancer every year?

Aside from all that, I have friends and family who know how much stroke can devastate lives.  So I'm doing this for you.  You know who you are.
