Story

He survived and against all odds has continued to make a positive, if incredibly slow, recovery. He currently lives in the Queen Alexandra Hospital Home in Worthing, where he receives&nbsp;full time&nbsp;care. Everyday is a challenge for him and basic day to day things that we all take for granted require considerable effort and determination. One thing Stuart has yet to&nbsp;achieve is standing. The hospital are looking to secure funding for an Electronic&nbsp;Vision Standing Frame which, as&nbsp;well as aiding standing, helps to maintian bone strength and kidney function.&nbsp; This equipment costs around &pound;5,000 pounds.</span></span></span></p> <p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Last year&nbsp;i took part in a team 500 mile charity cycle&nbsp;ride in Southern Ireland and between us&nbsp;we managed to donate &pound;3,000&nbsp; the Hospital Home, Worthing. It is difficult to help Stuart, his parents and family from a distance but raising money for the home is one small thing we can do. The Queen Alexandra Hospital Home does a fantastic job and relies very heavily on charitable donations.</span></span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Following our marriage in November 2009 (at which Stuart was supposed to be our&nbsp;best man), we took&nbsp;a honeymoon in The Atlas Mountains in Morroco staying in the shadow of Mount Toubkal. At night we looked up at the amazingly clear stars around the mountain and vowed to one day return to climb to the summit.</span></span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; color: #000000; font-size: small;">At 4,167 metres (13,671 ft) high, The Mountain of Jebel <span style="mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Toubkal</span> is the highest peak in the </span><a title="Atlas Mountains" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlas_Mountains"><span style="color: windowtext; text-decoration: none; text-underline: none;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;">Atlas Mountains</span></span></a><span style="font-family: Calibri; color: #000000; font-size: small;"> and in turn </span><a title="North Africa" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Africa"><span style="color: windowtext; text-decoration: none; text-underline: none;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;">North Africa</span></span></a><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">. We hope to raise over &pound;4,000. We are funding the trek ourselves and every penny raised will go direct to the home.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; color: #000000; font-size: small;">I am aware that we all get asked to donate all too often but every little helps and for the cost of two beers or a couple of cups of costa coffee you really could help us make a difference to the ex-service men and patients of the QAHH. PLEASE help a little if you can, </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; color: #000000; font-size: small;">Thank You.</span></p> <span>&nbsp;</span></p> </span></p> </p> </p> <p>Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.</p> <p>Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
