Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Keelan Bambrick-Webster was the son of my friend, Michelle Webster. He only lived for five weeks after he was born.  He died suddenly in his mother's arms, and nothing she nor the doctors could do saved him, despite their best efforts.

His death has been ascribed to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

This diagnosis basically says that the medical experts do not know why Keelan died, except that it was nobody's fault.  This is not much help to people like Michelle, who have to endure 'what ifs', given the general nature of such a diagnosis.

The Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths is a charity that helps people like Michelle. It offers support for the families of those who have lost a child in this way.  It uses your money to fund research so that better answers can be found when someone asks why their child died so soon.  It gives advice and help to parents who are worried about the safety of their newborn children.

FSID does important work.  It cannot continue to do that work without donations from you.

Everyone knows that losing a child is the worst nightmare any parent can imagine.  For many of us it is something that stays purely in our imagination. For Michelle it is a reality that she has to live with the knowledge of every day for the rest of her life.

On Saturday 14th May 2011 Michelle and her friends and family will walk a mile in memory of Keelan.  I will be there, walking alongside her.  Please sponsor me so that I can do my bit to support her, and other parents like her.

Please do what you can to help by donating now.
