Story

The Big Chairity fundraiser on the 9th of september at the Spa Hotel in saltburn raised £1094 !! Thank you to those people that came and donated and the acts for making it a brilliant night! :D

17th September @ Saltburn community Centre, Rotary Tombola! All the Proceeds made goes to my charity!! Get yourselves down there.. 9-3 o'clock :)

What am I fundraising for?

In October this year i will be involved in a Youth Xchange. This is a 6 month opportunity, with 12 weeks spent working overseas and 12 weeks spent in the UK. I will be placed in a team of 10 UK volunteers and 10 volunteers from the host country.

Where will I be going?

I have just found out i will be going to the Philippines! For anyone who isnt sure where it is, it is in south east asia near Vietnam and Taiwan. I will be working on two projects in the Metro Manila / Luzon region (Bulacan and Pampanga provinces) of the Philippines. I will then be split into one of two groups of 5 UK volunteers, who will then work alongside local young people. When  im in the UK i will be in Bradford, my stay here will involve alot of community work.

What will I be doing?

The Youth Xchange programme gives young people the opportunity to work on projects tackling important issues. Two themes i will be working on are:

Anti human-trafficking

I will be working with local student champions in schools to increase awareness and support of young people on issues of human trafficking.  This will include providing information sessions on human trafficking and current campaigns to end it, as well as training and development of student groups and supporting youth-led community activities.

 Health education

I will be working with local health workers to increase youth and adult awareness on issues of healthy lifestyles, disease prevention and family planning. This will include providing health awareness-raising sessions to vulnerable community groups as well as training and development of youth health clubs and supporting youth-led community activities.

Where will your money go?

Your donations will go towards supporting the work of the International Citizenship Scheme (ICS) and will enable ICS to continue sending youth volunteers, like me, to the developing world to make a lasting difference in disadvantaged and impoverished communities. Every penny counts and all the money I raise will go straight to ICS. So please dig deep! I really need your help to reach my target and play my part in fighting poverty through ICS.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!! :-)
