SafeHands for Mothers and Zonta  II

A woman dies every minute, somewhere in the world, due to pregnancy-related causes which is why I am running for SafeHands and Zonta, knowing that the money I raise will make a difference to saving mothers' and their newborns lives .  Please give generously.

SafeHands for Mothers' vision is to contribute to a reduction in maternal mortality and morbidity from pregnancy-related causes and to protect and promote health of the newborn in developing countries. The charity aims to achieve this through the production of high quality films and visual materials to support government and non-governmental training and advocacy programmes.  http://www.safehands.org/ 

Zonta International is on the front lines of global and local efforts to help women overcome barriers to equal education, health care, legal rights, credit and employment through education, service and advocacy programs funded by the Zonta International Foundation.  http://www.zonta.org/site/PageServer

 

Update! 8th March 2010

Huge thanks to Sue and Roger Mansfield who over the weekend raised £300 with an organised walk through Southwark to help me raise money for Zonta London II and Safehands.
