To raise money for disabled young people in Surrey and celebrate a special birthday, Councillor Kay Hammond will be abseiling for the first time at High Ashurst Outdoor Education Centre in Dorking on 24th March.
All money raised will go towards buying a trekinetic chair - a specially adapted wheelchair that allows young people with disabilities to take part in activities that they previously wouldn't have been able to.
We really want to raise enough money so we can add another chair to the current stock in the Youth Development Service. This will enable us to give as many young people as possible the chance to take part in activities such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. Reviews of the chair from young people show how valuable they are:
"The chair is a masterpiece of engineering design"
"The chair was great - the trip wouldn't have been possible without it!"
So, please support Councillor Hammond in her debut abseil attempt!
