Great North Swim 2009 · 12 September 2009 ·

Eden Animal Rescue is a registered charity based in Cumbria, dedicated to rescuing, caring for and rehabilitating neglected, abandoned and unwanted animals. We find every animal a safe, loving forever home and never put a healthy animal to sleep. Our vital work depends on donors and our volunteers.

Story

Its coming up to September and again I'm swimming for charity - I must be mad!

Having competed for the first time last year in the Great North Swim - and completed my swim in 48 minutes (which was well under the one hour target I set myself) - I've decided that I'd like to try and do it again!

Last year I rose £180 for St John Ambulance in Cumbria - this year I'm trying to raise as much as I can for Eden Animal Rescue - a charity which looks after the lost, abandoned and homeless animals of the Eden Valley and surrounding areas! I myself have benefitted from their efforts by taking in two kittens earlier this year.

Eden Animal Rescue this year are engaged in a fund-raising effort to purchase a despirately needed Animal Transport Vehicle for the collection and movement of animals between their base in Hardendale and the various vets that they work with. The cost of this vitally need vehicle is projected to be £7,000.

Please can you help me again raise money for this worthy cause!

 Thank You!
