Story

Hi,

I DID IT :))

4h40m, really chuffed. The hills were most certainly up!! A really exhausting middle 15-25km. I thought Inverness would never arrive, but I kept going, never stopped and made it over the line, even did a sprint finish - not sure how!!

Mum, dad, carl, luke and david were my fantastic supporters who I could not have survived without - much love to them all x

A huge thankyou for all my donations and support, it all really helped on the day.

Kx

As some of you may know, I insanely stated to my children last year whilst watching the Rotterdam marathon, that "if that fat bloke there can run a marathon, anyone can!!!" Thus the challenge was set :( Sadly, I injured my calf muscle at Xmas which meant no Rotterdam marathon in April - the easy option! - So now that we are back in Scotland I have decided on the Loch Ness marathon on 2nd October - the much tougher option!!

Training is going well, half marathon completed, but the hills are a bit of a pest!! Fingers crossed that the body and mind will hold together long enough this time to complete my challenge :)

I decided as I was doing this insane act that some good should come from it, so I am running for Macmillan Cancer Support. I am sure we all know of someone whose life has been affected by this horrid disease and my thoughts will certainly be with them, pushing me on as I battle along my 42km.

I will be very grateful for what ever you can donate to help support this organization. Many thanks and please feel free to come and support on the day!!

Kay x

The official bit: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
