Kay's Story:
In October 2002, sadly Hilary lost her 7 month battle with pancreatic cancer when I was 20 weeks pregnant with our daughter Molly who was her first Grandchild. She now has 4 Grandchildren - Molly who is now 7 & has a 22 month old brother Henry & 2 cousins Joshua who is 4 & Daisy who is 2.
In June last year my dear friend Margaret passed away suddenly 5 weeks after finding out she had secondary tumors on her liver and Lungs having beaten breast cancer 3 years earlier.
A Group of 9 Mum's from the village where I live decided to run the Leicester Half Marathon as two teams in the Freeth Cartwright Relay on Sunday October 11th 2009 in memory of Hilary & Margaret and to raise much needed funds for LOROS which is the hospice which cared for both of them & to whom we will always be so very grateful for the fantastic care that they provided at such a difficult time.
We are now training for the I Do It For LOROS Ladies 5km run at the Leicester Tigers Ground on Sunday 6th June 2010.
We are all out training at least 3 times a week, putting in alot of hard work as we would like to raise as much money as possible for a great charity so close to our hearts.
