Story

In September 2017 we lost a friend, a brother, a dad and a son. Our hearts haven't been the same since we lost Jack, he's never far from out thoughts and we miss him dearly every day.

Jack meant a lot to Jack and I so we have decided to raise money for The Compassionate Friends, a charity that have been of great support to Sharon & the rest of the family since the passing of Jack, by running the Torbay Half Marathon.

The first and only time I ran the Torbay Half was two years ago and that's the last time I saw Jack. I was on my second lap and couldn't believe I had to go and do it all over again, just as I was in mental turmoil and considering quitting, I heard my name. There he was, with Sharon, Paul and Josh waving and cheering. It gave me the courage to keep going. I made it another lap however just as I'm approaching the finish I felt that similar feeling of being done. I had given it everything I had, I could walk the last bit right? Then I saw the Walsh's... I couldn't possibly walk now, Jack would never let me forget it! Yet again they cheered me on and it gave me the push I needed - I made it over the line... just. Not being a natural runner it was truly one of the toughest challenges. Now, every time I run and I'm at my limit I think of Jack and I keep going, so although he would think this is ridiculous and probably tell me to have a rest I'm doing it for him.

Jack and Jack have been best friends all their lives. Absolutely inseparable, complete nightmares; they caused havoc wherever they were but their big fat grins made them endearing, therefore rarely in actual trouble. (April is definitely joining me on eye-rolling at this point) Two little pains but the angels of our families eyes. Our lives aren’t the same without you & seeing that big squinty eyed grin. All our love always.

Any donation, no matter how big or small is greatly appreciated. & of course please come on the day & cheer us on, it’s going to an almighty challenge.

Thank you X
