My story
Each year Leyland Leader holds a major fundraising event. In recent times we have supported Rosemere Cancer Foundation with a Lancashire evening and a Ball, each at the Civic Centre, Leyland. For 2012, whilst continuing to support Rosemere and other local charities through PR and advertising etc, we have decided to raise funds for a local children's charity, Child Action North West - based in Blackburn but doing great work throughout the region.
'Will you still need me, will you still feed me....'
On May 20 2012 can you believe it, Ruthie will be 64 - same age as me again, so for a 'special day out' we are tackling the Great Manchester Run (10K), reviving our running careers (at least I am) and once it's over we can have a birthday celebration.
We have pledged to raise a minimum of £300 (between us), quite a modest amount in the scheme of things, so wouldn't it be nice to at least double that (or more)? Hope you can help this worthy cause through sponsorship, make it worth our while dusting off the trainers - please - just a little goes a long way..

We finished the Great Manchester Run yesterday. A fantastic day out. I ran on memory, and Ruthie, on her birthday had a bad knee, so we were both glad to finish. We raised £1500 for CANW, thank you so much to everyone who supported us, your donations kept us going. Thank you.
Fantastic support from Slaters Catering - cheers Vince, much appreciated. And what timing - 15 minutes before we set off running the donation came through - what a boost, good man!
FANTASTIC support last night from VIP guests attending the launch of Da Vinci Wine Bar and Restaurant at Wellington Park. Many thanks to manager Joy for raising a collection for Child Action North West, really appreciated - and a goo dnight was had by all!
The support to date has been fantastic. Many thanks to Joanne Geldard and her team at Lancaster Lane primary School, my PR friends. Everything is really appreciated - we were at a Child Action North West charity event yesterday and they are delighted.
