People inspire me for different reasons. Some achieve great things in business or sport; some are great leaders; and some, like the Verrico family, stand up to difficult and challenging situations with a tenacity, determination and good humour that I could never muster.

Anna's and Paul's determination to face up to, and beat, Anna's breast cancer have shown me the power of the human spirit and it is for this reason that I decided to raise money for their chosen charity; the sponsoring of a Doctoral Student researching cancer cures at the University of Sheffield. My challenge is to complete the Outlaw Iron-Distance Triathlon on July 7th 2013. Completing a 17-hour 140.6 mile mix of swimming, biking and running will (I am sure) take me to my limits but I will be spurred on by the quality of the cause.
