Story
So, it´s over. 3h 09m 53s - it was looking good, but unfortunately I just wasn´t strong enough for the hills that sneaked into the last 10k, and a bit of crafty walking was involved. The crowd were a big help - lots of ´Hyvää Hyvää´, especially when I managed to get myself back into a run.
Thanks so much to those who have been able to make a contribution, it really does help. And for those who haven´t, there´s still time! Please just follow the clicks from this page....

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 14th August 2010, I'll be running the Helsinki City Marathon, along with some astonishingly fit Finnish types. I'm trying to raise a bit of money for Starfish - a small charity that supports orphans and other children affected by HIV-AIDS in southern Africa.
It's a cause that's been close to my heart since living and working in the region a few years ago. A small amount of money goes a very long way in making a difference to the lives and opportunities of the children, who often have to pick up the massive burden of caring for siblings (or sick parents) at an age when they should be living, learning and playing.
I've been trying to fit in a bit of training in the last couple of months, including a tough practice run at the Malvern Midsummer Marathon, but August 14th is still going to be a long, hot day on the streets of Helsinki...
If you'd like to join me in trying to support the children of southern Africa, please donate whatever amount you feel you can. Many thanks.
Keith
