Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Here's a little something I wrote for my Dad....
I knew you’d gone already the day I saw you there
The tubes for breathing and monitoring in the intensive care
It didn’t look like you Dad
You’d already left that place
I looked at you a few times to try to recognise your face
I stroked your hand which wasn’t the one I knew
Maybe someone had already come for you
Maybe you were high above us wondering why we were all so sad
After all it could go either way but today wasn’t yours, was it Dad
Did you want to go now, were you ready to drift
I cannot believe one moment there, the next such an intense shift
The pain is hard to release even though tears flow free
I hope you’re not saying - come on it’s fine don’t cry anymore for me
I want to cry for you for the loss I feel inside
I have such fond memories that I want to share not hide
Some will be mine alone the others I can say
These will remain forever until my dying day
At that point then I’ll see you I know I will for sure
You’ll take my hand and off we’ll go for joyful times once more
Please donate...they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
