I was lucky(?) enough to get a place in the London Marathon ballot, due to personal reasons it was an easy decision to run in support of Macmillan. My mum fought cancer twice in the last ten years and finally lost the battle in September 2015, during this time the support received from Macmillan, in particular the Macmillan nurses was second to none. Most of us have been touched by cancer and it is truly horrible disease which, until a cure is found organisations like Macmillan are vital to support the individual, families and friends that are going through it. So please spare what you can, we never know when we may need their support.
