A year or so on and clearly I've forgotten how bad my knees get, so I'm off in early July to try to climb Mount Ararat. That's assuming we can get past some interesting visa challenges given it's on the Turkish/Iranian/Armenian borders. At around 5,200m we'll be in crampon and ice axe country again.
