Story
So why you might ask would anyone want to run 26.2miles?!?! What do you mean sightseeing whilst running in New York? I don’t know how we will manage ;)
I do have a story though and some of you know I can talk but I’ll keep it short (ish), so here is the my story.
My younger brother was diagnosed with arthritis 2 years ago when he was just 27 years young. We were all shocked as we associated this illness with the elderly. He was told there are different kinds of arthritis, some so severe that he could end up having to use a wheelchair. This was devastating for him as he leads a very active life and has his own carpentry business. It was a difficult time as he underwent numerous tests and treatment, but has come through it all with great courage and resilience. My brother is amazing and I love him more than he knows, so this is for him!
There is no cure for Arthritis and it is the single biggest cause of physical disability in the UK. It affects nine million men and women in the UK.
We sometimes forget those smaller charities when fundraising so this is our pledge to Arthritis Care! They are the largest voluntary organization working with and for all people with arthritis that wants a society where people with arthritis have equality of opportunity and full social inclusion.
