Hi and thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page!
As you maybe aware I had set myself a challenge that before I turned 30 I would complete a life long ambition and finish a marathon. Yes it's true, I am only that young....although thinking about it the fact that I'm turning 30 itself may need fundraising!!
This year I am lucky enough to be given the chance to fulfill this dream, and have managed to secure a place in the New York Marathon for November 2009. The Big Apple has always been a favourite city of mine, and brings back fond holiday experiences and memories. So to be given the chance to run in this city makes this experience even more special!
The race will take me through all five of 's boroughs, running through Brooklyn to the Bronx, Times Square, Broadway, Greenwich Village, passing by the and and eventually finishing in .
No doubt running 26.2 miles won't be easy, however I would like to dedicate this experience to a special charity, the Terrence Higgins Trust.
There are over 70,000 people living with HIV in the - yet one third of people infected do not know it because they haven't been tested. Furthermore, people with HIV still suffer discrimination and abuse; people still lose their jobs, their homes, even their friends and families because they have HIV.
Terrence Higgins Trust (THT) is the leading HIV & AIDS charity in the and the largest in . It was one of the first charities to be set up in response to the HIV epidemic and has been at the forefront of the fight against HIV & AIDS ever since.
HIV & AIDS is real and continues to affect people across the world. The Terrence Higgins Trust aims to reduce the spread of HIV, and seeks to provide services which improve the health and quality of life of those affected.
Please give generously to such a worthwhile cause. The pain of having ran 26.2 miles will be worth it knowing that I have reached my fundraising target for such a deserving cause.
