Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

A quick update to my page.  I recently completed the Inverness Half Marathon on Sunday 17th March 23, in a time of 1:45:26.  This may come as a shock to some but it was cold, wet and miserable, but I suppose it was in Inverness in March.  But I did enjoy it.

Thanks to all that have supported me and more importantly sponsored me over the last few months.

I was supposed to run the Paris half marathon on 3rd March 2013, but due to being posted back from Germany earlier than expected, to RAF Lossiemouth, I have had to cancel this.  So instead I will be running the Inverness half marathon on 17th March 2013.  Sorry for the slight change but it can't be helped.

From Fat to Not So Fat and a Wee Bit Fitter

For all of you that know me you will probably be amazed that I am running a half marathon, as 2 years ago I struggled to run for last orders at the bar.

What a difference time makes as over the last year I decided to start running to lose weight and get fitter.  After I succeded in those goals I thought I really like this running game and wondered what to do next.  In July of last year I entered my first 10K road race and did that in 46 minutes.  I couldn't believe it.  After that I entered 2 half marathons in Germany, one on base at Ramstein in September, 1hr 43 minutes, unbelievable I thought.  The following week I did the Saarbrucken half marathon and did that in 1hr 42mins.  So then I was wondering what to do next when a family friend (thanks Shari) entered the Paris Half Marathon, and she gave me the idea to do it also.

It got me thinking that I had already done some races for personal goals, so I thought I would do this one for somebody else's benefit.

I decided to look for a charity that is less well known and found one that, if we had known about a few years ago would have been very helpful to us, in difficult times.

So to everybody out there thank you very much for looking at my page, and now I look forward to race day.
