So, eh, aye!!!
I had been wanting to take part in another open water swim event this year (although without the potential of shark attacks as was the case in in March) and only found out about the Great Scottish Swim 2 weeks ago.
I found out about the swim from a fundraiser for . Erskine is a place dear to my family as my Grandad spent a few years in the care of the staff at the ex-service men and women's hospital. He had been basically neglected in his previous care home and Erskine gave him back his mobility, dignity, character and allowed him and my gran to celebrate and enjoy their golden wedding anniversary. 3 days after first hearing about the swim and agreeing to participate for Erskine was the 10th anniversary of my grandad passing away. So this all has come about pretty quickly and has been a happy coincidence for me and i am proud to swim to raise money for Erskine and in my grandads memory.
I would like to say the swim is going to be easy, but i've only been in the pool once since March. But hey, it's me! 1 mile in Strathclyde Loch, Nae bother!!!
I know it's short notice but i appreciate all that anyone is able to give towards Erskine.
Thanks everyone
Kenny
