Story

Hi, I'm Keren and I own and run Igguldon Farm Stud in Buckinghamshire, where I breed horses for Eventing and NH Racing.

Approximately 10 years ago I had a riding accident which resulted in a fractured vertebrae, an operation and a long period of convalescence. Whilst my body healed, my riding confidence had been completely shattered and I decided to give up riding.

Like many others in the equestrian world, I followed the story of Hannah Francis and her brave battle against cancer. I marvelled at her tremendous courage, the joy she derived from riding her horse and her determination to set up a charity, Hannah's Willberry Wonder Pony, that would remain after she had passed away.

During 2017 I read the adventures of many people, that like me had not ridden for years or lost their confidence riding, taking up the Wobbleberry challenge to raise money for Hannah's Willberry Wonder Pony charity by competing in a British Eventing one day event. I have been so inspired by these wonderful people, that have raised so much money, that I have joined the Wobbleberry challenge. This is going to be a massive journey for me, not only have I had a 10 year gap in riding, but I think the last time I jumped a fence must be about 16 years ago!

Since joining the Wobbleberry challenge things have not gone as planned, I was hoping to complete the challenge in 2018, but unfortunately three hospital stays and the diagnosis of having the lung disease Bronchiectasis, meant that 2018 was a right off.  I am determined to complete this challenge, to find my inner Hannah Francis and to overcome the hurdles in front of me. Therefore I’m planning to do a BE80 later on this season, but if I don’t manage it then I will continue with my training on Jasmine to do it in 2020, but I WILL DO IT!

Please sponsor me and follow my progress on my Facebook page Igguldon Farm Stud.

About the charity

The Charity was established by talented horse rider, Hannah Francis, following her diagnosis with the aggressive form of bone cancer, osteosarcoma. People all over the world followed Hannah's story which she told through her mascot, Willberry. Tragically Hannah passed away at just 18 years old.
