Kerri's Danny's 18th Challenge 15/06/19

Danny's 18th Challenge · 15 June 2019
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 15th June I am walking 18 miles to raise money for The Danny Green Fund. It would have been his 18th Birthday this year. The walk starts at the Sealife Centre in Southend and finishes at the Lobster Smack.
Any donations would be great appreciated xx
Danny's Story
Danny was a fit and healthy 10 year old boy who loved to go out with mates, was a black belt at karate and loved playing football. But in November 2011 our world was devastated when Danny was diagnosed with brain tumour and had to under go chemotherapy and radiotherapy at Great Ormond Street Hospital and UCLH. Not only did Danny have cancer but he was also diagnosed with Posterior Fossa Syndrome which Danny struggled with every day. PFS left Danny unable to speak, to swallow, to move unaided but slowly with months of hard work and determination with intense therapies Danny was able to recover much of what he lost. Sadly we didn't get the happy ending to our story that we so desperately wanted as Danny passed away in July 2012.
But Danny is in the inspiration for everything that The Danny Green Fund does. The Danny Green Fund can help children like Danny who have sadly been diagnosed with PFS by providing vital therapies such as physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, speech therapy or a piece of equipment to help recovery from this debilitating syndrome. We can help fund trikes, wheelchairs, specialist buggies, multi sensory equipment or an iPad to help with hand eye coordination, balance, strength and stamina. Our aim is to help children to become more independent and to offer them a brighter future where they will walk unaided once again.
