On 27 October - 4 November 2017 I will be travelling with ActionAid Guernsey Support Group to Bani Bilas School in Nepal where one of the buildings at the School was completely destroyed in the 2015 earthquakes.  I will be with a group helping to rebuild this building.

Any money raised through this site goes DIRECTLY to the cost of the build and local community. 

This trip is close to my heart.  I believe that Education is vital for empowerment of individuals, communities and to protect the safety and welfare of children. 

It is a sad fact that 90% of Schools in Nepal were affected by the earthquakes in 2015 leaving over 1 million Children without a safe space to learn. 

By helping to rebuild a School the local Community will benefit in a number of ways:

- Children in the Community will have the chance to gain an education therefore protecting future generations from poverty and empowering them to make positive choices for their futures.

- Children who are not currently able to attend School are at increased risk of exploitation from risks such as child labour and trafficking.

- The space the children will have to learn in will be safe and purposeful (and disaster resistant) ensuring more children will want to go to School and thereby increasing School attendance.

- The local community will be involved throughout the trip which in turn will go some way to helping an area of Nepal that was so badly affected  by the earthquakes.
