My story

Hello Ladies and Gents,

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

I am for the first time in a long time on the scrounge for some of your hard earned penny's to help sponsor my lengthy Bicycle Ride from York to Amsterdam in aid of raising money to help Jessie’s Fund.

Jessie’s Fund is a charitable organisation helping severely ill and disabled children communicate through music and for therapy. Monies donated help towards working with children in hospices and in other settings nationwide, providing a wide range of musical instruments and giving the children access to music-making and to music therapy.

About the challenge...

Well for a start its going to be tough one (for me anyway!!)

A group of us will be cycling in July from York to Amsterdam and back again, total mileage will be 250miles over a 4 day stretch! (Just the thought makes my body ache!)

We will cycle from York to Hull, catch the Ferry which will take us to Rotterdam, then cycle from Rotterdam to Amsterdam where we will spend a night and day then cycle back from Amsterdam to Rotterdam, again cross waters to Hull by Ferry and continue homewards from Hull to York.

Not only is the challenge a long Bike ride that will burn my muscles, make my bum sore and involve lots of huffing and puffing. But the fact that I hate Ferries because they always make me very sick and the alcohol I am likely to consume along the way (or try not to) is a challenge in its self!

There does seem to have been an increase in charitable activities and people constantly asking for donations this year and I understand if you cannot offer much, but I am begging for you to all just dig deep into your pockets, it does not have to be much, if others donate higher amounts don’t feel that you are tight by not matching it (I have been there!!) but if you can offer more GREAT :-)!! Every little helps.

ALL MONIES GO TO THE CHARITY AND DO NOT FUND THE RIDE, THIS I HAVE FUNDED MYSELF.

BIG THANKS to all of you that Donate :-)

Love, Sweat and Turning Wheels

Kerry xX
