Ride Across Britain · 6 September 2014 to 14 September 2014 ·

We are raising funds for Instant Network Emergency Response (INER). When disaster strikes, Vodafone Foundation volunteers deploy to restore free vital connectivity for families, responders and communities. INER also builds resilience through local hubs to reach more people quickly and effectively.

Story

Lesotho has been severely afflicted by HIV/AIDS and over 100,000 children have lost one or both parents to AIDS. Without treatment, 90% of HIV+ children die before they are 5 and one third before they are 1 year old.

All of the money I raise will go towards (i) providing medical treatment for children with HIV/AIDS in Lesotho; (ii) setting up rural mobile health clinics so that mothers can deliver their babies safely; and (iii) providing injections to mothers to stop them passing HIV to their unborn baby. Vodafone's target is to support all 41,000 currently living with HIV/AIDS

A few facts about the challenge:

  • 969 miles over 9 days - or around 108 miles a day
  • I will climb 15,000 metres over 9 days ( or 13 times up Alpe d'Huez)
  • no comfy bed at the end of each day - we will be camping!

Please support me in my challenge - your donations will spur me on and every pound donated will make a difference to children in Lesotho

Many thanks

Kerry
