Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In November 2011, my 7 year-old son, Nathan was diagnosed with insulin-dependent diabetes. It was a shock at the time and we are getting into the swing of his injections and treatment. Having now read lots on the subject, it's clear that with the right research, progress can be made in making things better for people with diabetes such as in the avoidance of problems later on in life with eyes, kidneys and nerves. Diabetes UK are active in this research.

This from their website, 'Scientists agree that research will lead to a cure for diabetes and recent breakthroughs suggest we may be closer than we thought'.

Having guided on many charity challenges, I now intend to do one of my own, so please support me as I cycle from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean across the mountains of the Pyrenees. It's 710 kms, 11,000 metres of ascent and has to be done in 100 hours.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

There's a FB page monitoring my progress, feel free to join. https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/259936934077923/
