Story

Hello All.  I know it's very late notice this year but I've finally arrived in the 21st Century and ditched the paper sponsor forms (well they haven't arrived in the post yet!).

Anyway this Sunday (27/05/12) will see me back in Edinburgh attempting to find the elusive marathon time of sub 3.5 hours, which was recently discovered in Brighton by one of my regular running partners; the famous "Braim of Britain" - or Phil as he is known to most!

In an attempt to achieve this time; I have been taken under the wing (excuse the pun!) of the centre of running excellence that is The Ravens City of London Running Club and in joining them for their speed sessions, have seen some reasonable reductions in my race times; the highlight of which was a new Half Marathon personal best of 1.28 at Paddock Wood in April.

Still, let's not get carried away!!  A marathon is a long way and if you don't believe me, get off the sofa, take your car out, drive to a point 26 miles away, park up, walk home and see how long it takes you.......especially if you then have to walk back to where you left the car in the first place!!

However, enough of such frivolity, aside from the challenge of the event itself; as it's a marathon; I do like to try and raise a few pounds for a good cause; and certainly through mine and Donna's experiences, Macmillan Cancer Support fits the bill.

I know I have asked for your support on many of my fund raising expolits to date so please be assured that I am not looking to empty your bank accounts; however if you can spare a pound or two; I, Macmillan Cancer Support and all those who have and will in the future benefit from their work will be very grateful.

Many thanks for your time in reading this.

Kevin
