Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for this year's London to Brighton Bike Ride and a huge thank you to everyone who has aready donated, taking me well over my original target, but please don't let this stop you!!
I am riding this year with a friend to help raise funds for the British Heart Foundation to continue their important research and support.
My oldest Son Joshua, was born with a rare collection of Congenital Heart Conditions on Christmas Day, 1997. A typical Teenager now, but he wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the work of BHF and other great organisations after spending 7 months at the Royal Brompton and 15 months at our local Hospital, Medway Hospital.
He will now need a new valve every 10 years or so, and even current developments have allowed the procedure to develop from full open heart surgery to key hole surgery. This significantly reduces the amount of time needed in hospital, the effect on the overall family and reduces the risks of complications or infections.
