Hi Everyone

 

Well I'm facing a challenge of a life time by heading off to Namibia for 26 days in May. No it’s not a mid life crisis!

I am going out with Raleigh International to work on community projects in one of the remote villages. Due to the physical nature of the expedition I have been out running for the last 4 Months to try and get myself into a position where I won’t collapse on the first day! As many of you know I haven’t even run for a bus for 15 years so this in itself is a massive challenge!

Along with organizing and building a playground for the children there will be a chance to teach them in the school which will be a fantastic experience. No don’t worry I won’t be teaching them Geordie!

For the majority of the time there I will be in a tent and digging my own toilet. For those who know how much I enjoy my home comforts this will be very challenging!

I’ll be organizing a number of charity events over the next few months so I hope to see many of you there. My target is to raise £1200 which goes directly to the Raleigh International charity.
