Kevs YAA 2016 challenge · 12 February 2016

Thank you for choosing to support Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA). As a charity YAA relies on the generosity of individuals & organisations to help save lives across Yorkshire. Thank you from the team YAA.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have been taking on some Yorkshire based challenge events this year to raise money for the YAA. These events have included the Harewood House 1/2 Marathon, the Big K 10k, the Skipton Triathlon, the Halifax 1/2 marathon, cycling a 60 mile section of the Leeds/Liverpool canal (Yorkshire side obviously) and conclude with the Yorkshire Marathon.

I have chosen to support the YAA this year, it is a charity funded solely by donations, the NHS provide paramedics on secondment but to keep their 2 air ambulances operational requires £12000 per day (£44 million a year).

The fast medical response that the Air Ambulance service provides is vital to a patient who has received major trauma, especially those
with head and spinal injuries, as the Air Ambulance can avoid traffic
congestion and uneven road surfaces.

On average, when a patient has been received by the YAA, they will always be only 10 minutes from the nearest hospital and 15 minutes
from the most relevant treatment centre. In some cases, this can save people's lives.

Please support me and this vital service.

Thank you.
