Lisa McGowan is raising money for Cardiac Risk in the Young

Team: Remembering Kevin Paterson

In memory of Kevin Paterson
Donations cannot currently be made to this page
Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Sunday October 21st 2012 my friend Kevin Paterson got ready and went out along with all the other runners who were taking part in the Birmingham Half Marathon.

He completed the run but then became ill, he never made it back home again. With all the help and support he received from the medical staff at the time and when he arrived at the hospital he unfortunately passed away long before he should have done.

As friends and family we are running/jogging/walking or maybe even crawling (dependent on levels of fitness) the Birmingham Half Marathon on Sunday 20th October 2013 in Kevins memory.

Kevin's family has chosen C.R.Y - Cardiac Risk in the Young as the charity that we are raising money for as this was a charity that Kevin supported himself but also due to the nature of his untimely death.

Kevin would have been extremely proud of what we are about to do and he had the biggest heart you could imagine, it didn't matter who you were he was a friend to everyone he met and you remained friends for good.

I hope you will support me and all the other people who are taking part in this marathon as there are a lot of us who are extreme novices at this and have never entered into such an event previously but will be putting our heart and soul into raising as much as we can for a charity that was close to Kevin and Katy's heart.

RIP Kevin you will be missed by everyone who knew you.

So please dig deep and donate now.
