100 Rounds of Boxing pad work to raise money for Macmillan · 5 July 2012

The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

My mum was diagnosed with Hodgkins disease many years ago and to be frank we are very lucky to have her here and alive with us today, without the help of the doctors, the radiotherapy, the operations and amazing work by Macmillan our family could have been so different. Macmillan were brilliant in all they did and how they helped my mum, so I am doing this for an amazing and deserving charity so that other families can have the help and hope we got from them.

On 25/08/12 @ 12pm, We are going to box for 100 rounds !!! it may sound simple but we are under no illusions this will be not only physically testing but mentally too, it will consist of 100 x 2 minute rounds with a single minutes rest in between rounds and will last around 5 hours, this will be 5 hours of nonstop pad work taken by a whole host of trainers, coaches and even friends of Poole ABC, we will be throwing minimum punches per round and estimate there to have been between 3000 to 4000 punches minimum thrown by the sound of the last bell.

For a long time Myself and Michael Diffey have wanted to take up a challenge that would not only push us physically but one that would inspire us to dig deep and give that bit extra for a worthy cause.

Having both known close friends and family who have suffered with and unfortunately died from one form or another of cancer we both wanted to make sure our money raised went to the charities we feel particularly close to, we both feel we have chosen brilliant and well deserving charities, so please help us in helping them, as the work they do and strive to do is priceless for so many people and families.

I truly am grateful for any donations,

Thank you,

Kev.
