My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have decided to take on the challenge of the Cycle Kenya event to raise money for Computer Aid. I have worked in the ICT industry for more years than I care to remember and have witnessed at first hand the evolution towards the information revolution. I strongly believe that everyone needs knowledge of, and access to computers to participate in this. The work Computer Aid does in bringing technology to poor areas of the world is vital to allow these areas to help themselves out of poverty. From bringing basic education facilities through to accessing information to enable e-medicine and e-agriculture, allows people and communities to move forward and participate in the wider world.
One of my favourite innovations is the Zubabox, see
http://www.computeraid.org/zubaBox-solar-internet-hub.asp . The website gives other examples of projects as well, take a look http://www.computeraid.org/our-projects.asp
This is a multi faceted challenge for me, to get from where I am now to a well oiled cycling machine will be a challenge in itself, let alone the cycle ride, so all support is greatly appreciated J.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
And to all my old mobile industry friends, prove the technology works, you can donate via SMS to 70070, add message kevw57 £n, where n can be £1,2,3,4,5, or £10!
Asante Sana!
