Story

As I'm not doing the London Marathon this year I thought I'd give the Rutland Marathon a go, especially as it's on my doorstep. As a warm-up I'm also doing the Avalanche Run and Farmageddon (10k mud runs), and Pain And Suffering (10 mile mud run).

I'm raising money for the Steve Prescott Foundation, a charity who fund research into Pseudomyxoma Peritonei (PMP), a form of cancer that only affects approximately 1 in a million people, they also support and help fund the Christie Hospital in Manchester.

For those of you who don't know, Steve Prescott was a St Helens legend who was diagnosed and sadly died from PMP in 2013. After his diagnosis he completed the London Marathon, and cycled from Lands End to John O'Groats, completing the Three Peaks Challenge en route.

About the charity

The Steve Prescott Foundation was set up by a totally inspirational man Steve Prescott MBE. In 2006 he was diagnosed with Pseudomyxoma Peritonei a terminal cancer & sought out to raise funds for The Christie Hospital and the Rugby League Benevolent Fund. The SPF changes the lives of so many people.
