Story

PLEASE NOTE i have not yet done this ride but it will be done in the spring of 2012. we had trained and were all set for july but my friend hurt himself at work, and at the end of August Ged was/is still poorly and there was no way i could just leave mel for 2 days

Daisy Chain is a charity which i think is well worthy of support

At the end of July (now bank holiday monday in august as Kevin who i am cycling with injured himself at work only 3 before we were to set off) myself and a friend are going to cycle from the Solway Firth (Maryport) (Irish Sea) to Seaton Carew in 2 days. The route will take us from the west coast to the east coast, passing through the Lake District, Penrith, Hartside Pass, Alston, Nenthead, Consett and then down through Durham to Seaton Carew. The route is about 140 miles, hence we will stop for a night in Alston. This follows much of the C2C bike ride but with a more convenient start and ending. It is a really hilly route as it crosses Cumbria and the Pennines so will be a challenge.

I would really like it, if I could raise money for Daisy Chain through this page. Daisy Chain (which is based in Norton) provides lots of things for children with autistic spectrum disorders and their families. Ged likes going there, they have a really well designed soft play facility, they manage it with great care and lots of people volunteer for them. They also provide support and advice, have a small farm and will offer respite care

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Daisy Chain and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
