Keytek Tour de Britain

We went the distance!...

Yes…we’ve actually done it!

At 1.00pm on the 24th September we officially completed the 5,792 kilometres that marked our circumnavigation around the whole of the to visit all of our engineers.

We really are quite proud of ourselves as well as a bit stunned that we’ve actually achieved this!  We knew from the start that we were setting ourselves a pretty stiff challenge and there were times, at the beginning, when we wondered what on earth we’d got ourselves into!

However, the competition kicked in, the teams and individuals started battling and the mileage started clocking up!

We’ve been averaging approximately 225km every day and on one day clocked up a phenomenal; 550.64km!!  The exercise bikes really began to show the wear and tear towards the end of the challenge and one of them actually gave up and broke down completely in the final days!

The aching limbs, sweat and toil appear to have been worth it though, as early indications show that we have already beaten the amount raised last year at The Dragon Boat Race.   That said, we’ve still got another week to bring in donations!

A huge THANK YOU to all of you who have already donated money to one or more of our charities.

If you’ve not pledged any sponsorship yet, please consider it.

A huge amount of effort has been put into this challenge by all staff and we really do want to raise as much money as possible for all the worthwhile charities we’re supporting.

Visit our JustGiving sites (which will remain open for another week) or simply give us a call to make your pledge

You’ve got all next week to donate, as we are able to accept contributions up to and including Friday 2nd  October.

A final Grand Fundraising Total will be shared with you all Monday 5th October

Thank you again to everyone who has already donated.

Any ideas for our 2010 Challenge…please let us know!
