Story

Myt first and last sea-level marathon complete!  Though with the number of hills it wasn't too disimilar from the Everest Marathon... except wih oxygen available!

The first 13 miles passed by fairly quickly, the scenery really was a distraction so it stopped Stephen and I moaning about them too much!  I left Stephen at about 11 miles and trudged on, Alex and Ben flew from the start and made a cracking time of 4h 36min!!!  They were side by side the whole way and have exact timings from the chip.  I came in at 5h 23min and am immensely pleased with this!  Knew I'd more than halve my PB ;-)

Got into a sticky position at the 20 mile mark where I had a hypo.  Thankfully devoured wine gums and a bottle of powerade!  A brisk 1 mile walk and I was back to running for the home straight!  Stephen sadly pulled out earlier... wasn't on top form for the race.  But rest assured he still has 2 more continents to visit and complete his mission of 7 marathons on 7 continents... note he isn't going to either of the poles!

Thanks to all who have sponsored... and if you didn't believe I would do it or finish here is the proof...

Why we did it???

This is also going to be the last time I do any form of long distance running; it's evil and bad for all things arthritic  (ancient at 25).  So you can rest assured I won't be raising money for a while, I sure ain't going up anymore mountains!  I could write a huge splurge on Cystic Fibrosis, what it is, stats and why you should donate.  But many will know me and I'm not the typical CFer that I would depict.  With me what you see on the outside does not refelct the inside, the only thing common among all CFers.  The simple reason for why I do these things is because I can.  Many with CF struggle to walk down the street without losing their breath.

The CF Trust are the only charity which are actively trying to extend median life expectancy, improve health care and help fund research into new treatments.

To our Team of Fundraisers!  A big THANK YOU!!!
