This time last year we announced that we’d be putting on our walking boots, grabbing a rucksack and setting up camp on Africa’s highest mountain (at 5,895 metres). In October 2010, the four of us put ourselves through 6 days of walking, climbing and living it rough in an attempt to conquer Mount Kilimanjaro.

 

Some of us made it to the top, some of us didn’t. Each of us had our own individual challenges to overcome and have all come away having met the friendliest locals, with the greatest memories and most importantly with the words 'Poley Poley' (slowly slowly) drummed into us.

 

The trek was to raise money for Leicestershire charity Wishes 4 Kids, with every penny going towards fulfilling wishes for children who are life limited, terminally ill, have experienced life-changing physical or emotional traumas.

Our final challenge is to reach our target of £5,000, so please help us by donating whatever you can to help make this possible.
