Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This September, I'm climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise funds for the L.I.V.E.S Charity, who I am a First Responder for. As those of you who know me will understand, this type of physical activity is unexpected! That said, if Chris Moyles can do it.....
First Reponders are volunteers who are called by the Ambulance Service control room and arrive ahead of the ambulance. We provide initial patient assessment, treatment and life support before the ambulance or paramedic arrives.
Outside of the major towns and cities an ambulance may be 45 minutes away, a delay which could be life threatening for someone with a serious medical condition, such as heart attack, stroke, breathing difficulties or with a serious injury.
The LIVES Charity provides training and equipment for this valuable service. They receive no government funding - Please help support them.
You can see how my training is progressing and follow us live during the trek on www.hagworthingham.org
