<p>Gulp!</p> <p>The enormity of what I have just signed up to has not yet hit me and maybe it won't until I am struggling to acclimatise to Kili's dizzy heights.&nbsp; It's the highest mountain in Africa and the tallest free standing mountain on earth (5895m above sea level)!&nbsp;</p> <p>It is going to take me 5 days/nights to summit and I will be doing the Macheme route which apparently is the most scenic but steeper!&nbsp; The success rate is good though.&nbsp; (Did you know that smokers have a better chance of reaching the summit because their bodies are used to less oxygen.&nbsp; I've never smoked though ... !)</p> <p>Thank you for visiting my page, all sponsorship very gratefully received.&nbsp; I've a big target to reach!!</p> <p>Follow my progress on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/KiliForCamille</p> <p>Best, Sal xx</p> <p>P.S a little plug for Tribes Travel who are running the trip and provided the photos (www.tribes.co.uk)</p>
